About

I am always keen to have a call or meet for a coffee to discuss ideas or help you problem solve your greatest challenges.

A little bit about me

A strategic thought leader and game changer, CIMA qualified with an MBA and an Engineering degree; I worked my way through the ranks from being a General Manager and Head of Operations in Merchant Banking after being a Senior Manager overseeing the African Market in Telecommunications. Now a CIO in a unique technology business making South Africa a safer place.

I excel at and am passionate about marrying technology to business needs by identifying and solving problems. I thrive on making peoples lives easier by letting tech do the heavy lifting. The varied experience I have obtained in different positions and industries allows me to look at the business holistically and find the solutions that best suit all departments.

I have created value for all my previous organizations and my clients and am usually called on to help in struggling departments or businesses, notably in recent years start-ups in need of rapid growth. Vumacam was a start-up with that no one had heard about. I was one of the first employees and helped make Vumacam one of the most talked about companies in Johannesburg.

I find people fascinating and intriguing. There are so many ways to lead people to be better and create more value. I love being able to get the best out of a person which may mean adapting my leadership style to suit that individual. I have been asked ‘what is the best leadership style?’, a loaded question to see how a person leads. I believe that you need to adapt to lead in a way that people can relate with and thrive under.

I strongly believe in cultivating a culture of letting people take ownership of their position and own decisions, let them make mistakes to learn from in order to grow.

The ideas that I share on this site may not be new or unique, although I will try my best to bring new content to the fore. What I will share are ideas that can create value in a way that a boarder audience can appreciate and understand. A little common sense goes a long way!
